Game booster works fine on other games, sometimes it doesnt kick in but there doesnt appear to be any issues

with monster hunter world however, there is a ~25% to 30% CPU usage while im running the game from bullguard, and it seems to want ot do a full system scan.

surely the game booster should be running? is there no way to manually mark games'# .exe files to trigger game booster?

Hello and welcome to our forum!

There is a complex algorithm behind the Game Booster. It looks at stuff like your CPU, your GPU and HDD/SSD usage, to decide whether any games should be optimized. There is no list of games behind it.

The behavior you are describing shouldn't happen, so please take these steps:

  1. Double-click on the BullGuard icon in the System Tray and open the application, or open it using the icon from the desktop, or from Start > Programs > BullGuard.

  2. Click on the "Settings" option from the upper part of BullGuard's window and click Advanced from the top.

  3. From the left panel of the window, choose "General" > "Main" and uncheck the "Allow BullGuard to protect its components against termination" option.

  4. Restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

  5. Open BullGuard > "Settings" and navigate to the "Antivirus" section from the left panel of the window and turn off the module by clicking on the button next to "Antivirus Protection".

  6. Click on the back button from the upper left corner of BullGuard and check if the issue persists.

  7. Return to the Antivirus section and click "Safe Browsing" under it. Uncheck "Safe browsing" and all the browser "Safe results".

  8. Check if this fixes the issue.

  9. Go to the "Firewall" section and disable this BullGuard engine, then click on the back button.

  10. Test if the problem is still there.

  11. Go to the "Vulnerabilities" section and disable this BullGuard engine, as well.

  12. Check if the problem persists.

  13. Navigate to the "Backup" section and turn off the module.

  14. Check again if the issue persists.

  15. Click on "Pc Tune Up" and turn it off.

  16. Again, check if the issue is still there.

  17. Select "Parental Control" on the left. On the right side, check whether you have an active profile.

If there is none, then skip this step. Otherwise click Manage profiles, right-click on the profile and choose Disable.

  18. Check if the problem was remedied.

  19. Disable the "Home network scanner" and see if that solves the issue.

You will notice that, at the end, only the Game Booster will be working basically.

Make sure that, after you try these steps, you turn everything back on and, it goes without saying, please try not to use any other programs during the test, except the game (not even a browser).

We are trying to pinpoint whether the Game Booster is not working as intended or there is something else in BullGuard that is contributing.

Afterwards, please contact our support department, via Live Chat or email, to advise further. They will likely ask for logs to escalate.
