Hello all,

I am writing to share that I have been receiving calls from +371 Latvia.

Because I have a lot of friends abroad, I called back and no one answered. I left it as it was, thinking that it may have been a miscall.

However, after a few hours, in the middle of the night, the phone rang again, ringing a few times and then hanging up. I blocked both numbers using BullGuard Mobile Security and went to bed. In the morning, again I got a few calls, from the same country, different numbers, but not by much. I blocked those as well and the harrassment stoped.

Searching for this I found articles on the internet about these calles charging huge fees when you call back. I also found and article saying these people are stealing your data from your phone when you call them and only need a few seconds at it as well. To me, this information is erroneous, but I check with the specialists to be sure and they confirmed it's untrue. Looking back on this, some of the articles recommended various spam blocking apps, so they may be promoting those.

Because adding numbers to the blacklist is tedious work, what I did to solve the situation permanently, was to block calls from people that are not in my contacts because my Huawey allows it. In your Huawey phone, tap on your dialer and tap the Settings button, then go to Harassment fiter. Tap Settings there and tap interception rules. Blacklist interception should be enabled by default. Tap to enable Stranger interception and you're all set.

No more annoying calls.

Android users will have to manually add these numbers, unfortunately, so I recommend using BullGuard Mobile Security for it.

Just a quick reply, Andreea,

I have recently installed Bullguard Mobile Security on mine and my wife's Android phones.

I can certainly recommend the app - it is inexpensive and very easy to operate.

Blocking of unwelcome phone calls is easy - it can be very quickly done by using the phone's call log.
