Hello.
I just wondered if anyone had any advice on the following. About 3 weeks ago i got a Warning message when i turned my computer on saying the following -
Primary Master Hard Disk S.M.A.R.T. Status bad.
Warning Imediate back up data and replace your Hard Disk Drive. A Failure May be Iminent.
Press F2 To Continue.
This Warning appeared 3weeks ago and i havnt rushed out to get a hard drive as yet, as it was only 3years ago i replaced my hard drive. Also with me being here, my computer for now, is still working, once i press F2 it goes on to load up. I just wondered if anyone as any advice on this Situation, if they have ever had this happen, Do i need to defiantely go and get a new hard drive and will my computer just fail on me. Any advice would be appreciated. My computer is Windows Xp.
I dont no if this is any clue to whats happening but, b4 this Warning started to show itself, when i used to turn on my computer it used to , cause a bit of trouble starting up, it would show a mesage saying the following >
Sorry for the inconvenience windows failed to start properly , this maybe due to power cut, or software of hardware change, how would you like to start windows Last known good configuration, Start windows Normally etc.
I used to press to start windows normally, sometimes it would take about 5 attempts b4 it would load up. Now since i have the warning message it hasnt done this atall - Touch Wood, i dont no if the 2 are connected atall, or if its all just a part of the hard drive going.
Thankyou.
