Connection to server timeout

Hello,
I've tried numerous times to configure Bullguard in my Outlook and Thunderbird e-mail clients. I've trained Bullguard, updated it, but no matter what, when attempting to get my e-mail I receive "Connection to server incoming.verizon.net timed out." Anyone have a similar problem? How was it solved?

I have to uninstall Bullguard and reboot to get my e-mail working properly.

What BullGuard version are you using ?

What I will ask you to do, is to increase the Servers Timeout from Outlook Here is what you need to do:

1. Go to Tools -> Select "Accounts...".
2. In the new window, select Mail tab and then choose your account.
3. Click on Properties from the right-side of the panel and select Advanced tab.
4. In the Server Timeouts section, move the cursor to the maximum of 5 minutesm, then try again to send emails and let me know whether the situation improves.


Also, The issue may occur due to the fact that your emails are checked through both Real-time file monitoring and Incoming and Outgoing email monitoring. In order to fix this problem, please do the following:

1. Open BullGuard.
2. Go to Antivirus section > Protection tab.
3. Uncheck the Incoming and Outgoing email monitoring options, in the right side of the window.

Hello Alin,
I am using the free version 8.5.

Your 1st suggestion: In Outlook, increased the server timeout to 5 minutes. It made no difference, I get a timeout. I get the same timeout in Thunderbird.

Your 2nd suggestion: The is no Antivirus section > protection tab that I could find in the freeware version of Bullguard.

Further info: I am using Norton 360 as my antivirus protection. Compatibility problem? In Thunderbird [not Outlook] I have checked SpamAssassin as a Spam filter. Again... compatibility problem? Thunderbird is my preferred e-mail software.

Perhaps using Bullguard along with the others is a redundancy... but I wanted to give it a try. I now have to uninstall Bullguard to catch up on my e-mail. Any further thoughts would be appreciated.
