Confirmation, please, that Hijackthis cannot be used with Windows Vista

I note on the Hijackthis site-

"Note: HijackThis 1.0 is only designed for Windows XP (and below)."

I assume this means that "hijackthis" cannot be used on the Vista operating system.

That being the case, does a similar tool exist to assist Vista users, please.

my avast is blocking win32:malob-bx [cryp] from installing, but i don't want to see a warning everytime i boot. however, i cant run hijackthis.

i ran trend micro's hijackthis, but it wont create a log file. it said i should run it as a system administrator, but i couldn't change the setting.

what should i do?
